U.S. Senator Todd Young released a statement explaining his vote against the Caribbean War Powers Resolution.
After receiving briefings, Senator Young stated he does not believe the resolution is “necessary or appropriate at this time.” However, he stressed his vote is not an endorsement of the Administration’s current operations in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific.
Young criticized the “creeping expansion of executive war-making” and the lack of a clear strategic objective in militarizing the “War on Drugs,” which he fears could potentially lead to conflict with Venezuela.

I guess Young thinks he can have it both ways. Vote against it but not be for it.
