Indiana Michigan Power is facing pushback over its plan to add over 3,000 megawatts of natural gas to power new Google and Amazon AI data centers.
Critics allege the buildout could cost over $7 billion dollars, with at least 39% of those costs possibly being forced onto I&M customers.
The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission will decide on this expedited plan by year-end, which could significantly increase Hoosiers’ utility bills before 2030.
