Two California men were killed after their vehicle collided head-on with a transport bus on Grape Road near Imus Drive, according to Mishawaka police.

Officers were called to the scene around 7:45 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, where they found both the driver and passenger of a southbound vehicle dead. The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team was activated to take over the investigation.

Investigators say the vehicle, driven by 24-year-old Pawandeep Singh of Fresno, California, attempted to pass another car when Singh lost control. The vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes and struck the front of a transport bus driven by a 53-year-old South Bend woman.

Singh and his passenger, 23-year-old Bikramjt Singh of Fresno, were pronounced dead at the scene. Phillips was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

FACT continues to investigate the crash.
