Potato Creek State Park’s Naragon Barn demolished

(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)
Crews demolished a 117-year-old barn at Potato Creek State Park on Monday, ending months of efforts by local groups to save it.
The Naragon Barn had been the focus of preservation work by Friends of Potato Creek, the Indiana Barn Foundation, and Indiana Landmarks.
They had asked the state to delay or reverse the removal, arguing the barn had historical value.
The Department of Natural Resources had announced plans to tear it down this fall but didn’t release a specific date.
The groups continued contacting state leaders in recent weeks in hopes of a compromise.
