Several bills stall out in Indiana legislature ahead of session’s end

Several bills failed to move forward in the Indiana legislative process after not being heard by a key committee deadline.

Among the bills that did not progress was Senate Bill 21, which aimed to name the breaded tenderloin as Indiana’s state sandwich.

Two conservative bills related to gender and abortion drugs were not heard by the House Committee on Governmental and Regulatory Reform.

Another bill that did not advance was Senate Bill 182, which sought to define male and female consistently throughout Indiana code.

A bill that would have eased the siting of utility and data center projects faced intense criticism and did not receive a hearing.
