Walkerton woman arrested after head-on crash leaves man seriously injured in LaPorte County

A Walkerton woman has been arrested following a head-on crash in LaPorte County that left another driver with serious injuries.
According to the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 8:46 p.m. Sunday, March 8, to a two-vehicle crash on State Road 2 near County Road 100 South.
Investigators say 21-year-old Mackenzie J. Miller of Walkerton was driving a red 2014 Buick eastbound on State Road 2 when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a silver 1999 Toyota.
The Toyota was being driven by a 47-year-old Wanatah man.
Authorities say the man suffered serious bodily injuries and was airlifted from the scene to a regional hospital for treatment. Miller was taken to a local hospital by a deputy for treatment and was later medically cleared.
After being released from the hospital, Captain Andy Hynek, Chief of Detectives, transported Miller to the La Porte County Jail.
Court records show Miller was formally charged in LaPorte County Circuit Court with:
Operating While Intoxicated Causing Serious Bodily Injury, a Level 5 felony
Operating While Intoxicated – Endangerment, a Class A misdemeanor
Operating While Intoxicated, a Class A misdemeanor
Miller remains in the LaPorte County Jail on a $15,005 cash-only bond.
