A county employee charged in connection with a swatting incident targeting a local elected official has resigned from her position, according to county leaders.

County Council President Bryan Tanner said Gloria Niedbalski submitted her resignation via email to the county assessor.

Niedbalski faces charges related to a December swatting incident involving County Councilwoman Amy Drake. Police say the incident occurred the same night Niedbalski was up for reappointment to the county’s Property Tax Board of Appeals.

Drake voted against the reappointment; however, Niedbalski received enough support from other council members to retain her position.

She was later arrested in connection with the incident. The case remains pending.

It just happened in December. The wheels of justice turn at a glacial pace.
