Law enforcement agencies in Indiana are facing a surge in cases involving AI-generated child sexual abuse material.
Reports have skyrocketed from 4,700 in 2023 to over 1 million in the first nine months of 2025.
The use of AI to create and distribute illicit content poses a significant challenge for law enforcement, overwhelming departments already struggling with caseloads.
Prosecutors are calling for more funding and resources to combat this growing issue, suggesting that tech companies should contribute to the efforts to investigate and prosecute those involved in creating or possessing illegal material.
