A man is under arrest in LaPorte County months after a serious crash.

Police say 21-year-old Shallun Culp is charged with OWI causing catastrophic injury, criminal recklessness, and driving while suspended.

Investigators say back in October, he tried to pass in a no-passing zone on U.S. 421 and crashed head-on into another vehicle.

Several people were hurt, including an 8-year-old who suffered catastrophic injuries.

Culp was taken into custody on Sunday.
