A 37-year-old Vandalia woman is dead following an ATV crash in Cass County.

Cass County Sheriff Clint Roach says deputies were called around 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, to a field off Kirk Lake Road in Newberg Township for a reported fatal ATV accident.

Investigators say Stacie Hershburger-Hebron was operating an ATV in a hay field when she struck a pole, causing the vehicle to overturn and land on its side, trapping her underneath.

Hershburger-Hebron was pronounced dead at the scene.

Assisting at the scene were SEPSA Ambulance, Newberg Ambulance, Victim Services, and the Newberg Township Fire Department.

The crash remains under investigation.
