Middlebury man arrested after allegedly attempting to get into vehicles

A Middlebury man was arrested after Goshen Police say he was found attempting to get into vehicles near the intersection of North Indiana Avenue and North Chicago Avenue.
According to police, officers were dispatched shortly before minight on Monday, May 25, after reports of a suspicious man trying to enter vehicles in the area.
Police identified the suspect as 35-year-old Justin D. Thompson of Middlebury. He was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of a hypodermic syringe, criminal mischief, and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle.
Authorities said Thompson suffered an injury and was treated by medics at Goshen Hospital before being transported to the Elkhart County Jail.
The incident remains under investigation.
