A LaPorte man is recovering after being rescued from a house fire Thursday morning.

Fire crews were dispatched to a home on K Street where neighbors reported seeing flames and heavy smoke. Witnesses also told firefighters someone might still be inside.

Crews entered the burning home and quickly located the occupant, pulling him to safety within minutes.

The man suffered burn injuries and was later flown by helicopter to a hospital. Investigators have not yet determined what sparked the fire.
