Applications are now open for the South Bend Police Department’s free Fall 2026 Citizens Police Academy.
The program runs Tuesday evenings from August 11 through October 6, giving residents 18 and older an inside look at patrol, SWAT, the K-9 Unit, Bomb Squad, detectives, crime scene technicians, the Real-Time Crime Center, communications and more.
Classes begin at 6 p.m., and space is limited.
