South Bend is receiving more than $14.5 million in state financing to improve its drinking water system.

The funding will help restore the Edison Water Filtration Plant, replace lead service lines in the city’s northwest water district, and support planning for a project to reduce PFAS contaminants at the North Water Treatment Plant.

The money comes through Indiana’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund loan program.
