Police in Goshen were inundated with calls from residents in reference to a rash of
burglaries and attempted burglaries to detached garages and sheds on Friday, Aug. 12.

By noon, police reported calls from as many as eight residents but expected the number to increase due to many residents leaving for work prior to sunrise and not noticing anything suspicious, according to the Goshen Police Department.

Various items were taken from some of the garages and sheds including lawn mower and tools, police said.

Police have not confirmed whether the burglaries were committed by the same suspects but due to the vicinity of the residences and the time frame, they believe the crimes were committed by the same suspect(s), police said.

The crimes took place in the following areas:

  • 200 block of W Garfield St
  • 700 block of E Jackson St
  • 1000 block of S 15th St
  • 200 block of W Jackson St
  • 800 block of S 11th St
  • 900 block of S 10th St
  • 1000 block of S 12th St
  • 1100 block of S 14th St

Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity or has any information about the burglaries is asked to contact the Goshen Police Department at 574-533-8661 or by email.
