A pedestrian walking westbound on U.S. 12 near Weaver Road was killed by a vehicle Friday night.

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office says 46-year-old Michael Gaertner was struck a little after 10:15 p.m. Friday. He was rushed to Lakeland Hospital in Niles, where he later died.

The crash is still under investigation. There’s no suspect or vehicle description at this time.
