Orchards Mall dodges bankruptcy by paying 2015 taxes

The Orchards Mall in Benton Harbor has avoided foreclosure for another year.

The owner of the mall paid it’s 2015 property taxes on Monday, which came to roughly $275,000.

The Mall still owes about $325,000 in taxes from 2016 and 17.

The full 2015 payment had to made on Monday to avoid losing the property, and no installments were permitted.
