Elkhart Republicans are filling a vacant seat on the City Council.

Adam Bujalski moved out of the city limits and attended his last meeting as a board member last week.

The Elkhart County GOP Party Chairman tells the Elkhart Truth that because Bujalski was elected as a Republican, county precinct members from the party will select the person who will replace him.

The replacement will fill the at-large seat on the council until it’s up for election again next year.

A caucus of the 37 precinct committee members must make the choice within 30 days of Bujalski’s resignation, which was Monday, Oct. 29.
