The Michigan’s Supreme Court has upheld a Mishawaka man’s conviction and sentence for attacking a Michigan State Police trooper.

It was back in June of 2017 when Michael Barber attacked the officer on the U.S. 31 Bypass near Niles.

Barber was sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison but claimed it was a case of double jeopardy.

Barber also claimed the trial court abused its discretion by imposing prison sentences above the guidelines.
