Two people were killed in a single vehicle crash in the area of Jefferson and Birch in Osceola.

The collision happened around 3:00 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, when the driver, who was traveling east, went off the road, hit a tree and ended up in a ditch.

The victims are identified as Ruf Sanzhura, 25, and Brandon Weaver, 34, of Elkhart.

The road was blocked for a few hours as police and fire crews investigated the crash, but reopened around 7 a.m.
