Traditional Thanksgiving dinner cheaper this year compared to last

If you’re wondering how much your Thanksgiving dinner will set you back financially this year, we have good news.

Results from Indiana Farm Bureau’s annual Thanksgiving Market Basket Survey show a Thanksgiving dinner for 10 people totals approximately $42.66 this year, or $4.26 per person, which is 10% less than in 2018.

Looking at turkey prices alone, a 16-pound turkey will cost you approximately $16.32 this year. This is a 24% drop in prices compared to last year’s $21.47 price tag.

A few products have increased in price this year, though, including cranberries, which have jumped from $1.85 to $2.46 for a 12-oz. package.

Sweet potatoes have seen a 9% increase, with 3-pound bags rising from $3.25 to $3.54 in the past year.
