Shooting in South Bend kills one, injures two Thursday morning

One person is dead and two others are injured after a shooting in South Bend early Thursday morning.

Police were called to the 1200 block of Dunham Street, near Arnold Street, just before 3 a.m. on reports of gunshots.

A woman was found inside one of the homes, suffering from gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

She was later identified as Lateisha Burnett, 28 of South Bend.

A second woman was also inside the home, and told officers she had been struck by gunfire. She was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Later on, a man possibility related to the incident arrived at a local hospital with apparent gunshot wounds that were also considered non-life-threatening.

No suspect information has been provided at this time, and anyone who has any information on the case is being asked to contact the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit at (574) 235-5009.
