School shooting plotter asks for lighter sentence

A man who entered a guilty plea in a school shooting plot is asking to have his sentence changed.

Donald Robin, Jr. received a 17-year prison sentence for his role in the plot to shoot up Rochester High School and Caston Schools.

The Fulton County Prosecutor’s Office says Robin and his co-defendant, John Schultz IV, entered the guilty plea in February after two trials. Schultz is facing a probationary sentence, and Robin is hoping to get a sentence that would match that. Both of Schultz’s trials ended in hung juries.

The judge is considering the request.
