Curious Kids Museum is closed after a fire

A popular destination in St. Joseph, Michigan has temporarily closed after a fire.

The Curious Kids Museum is a favorite along The Bluffs overlooking Lake Michigan, entertaining and educating children for many years with hands-on opportunities to learn about the world around them.

Tuesday morning an electrical fire in the attic was discovered before the facility opened for the day. WSJM reports all of the employees were able to get out safely but fire crews had to tear out some walls and part of the ceiling to extinguish the fire.

Several exhibits were damaged, but representatives from the city have already told the museum that they will work with them to make the attraction bigger and better as soon as possible.

It’s expected the museum will be closed for a month.
