Three store owners in Three Rivers are accused of trafficking a woman brought to the U.S. for marriage.
Ikbahl Machhal, Katar Chand, and Shila Devi face charges of human trafficking forced labor and human trafficking enterprise, both punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel says they trafficked the woman since 2012, making her work at Broadway Market for eight years without pay, under threat.
WNDU reports Machhal and Devi were arrested with $1 million bonds each, while Chand is at-large and reportedly fled to India.
