A major drug bust in Benton Harbor resulted in the arrest of eight individuals and the seizure of illegal narcotics and a firearm, according to an announcement from the Southwest Enforcement Team. The operation was carried out on March 25 in the 400 block of Broadway Avenue, where officers recovered crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia linked to drug distribution, and a semi-automatic pistol.
Among those taken into custody and lodged at the Berrien County Jail were a 40-year-old Benton Harbor man facing firearm and drug-related charges, a 56-year-old Benton Harbor woman charged with delivery of crack cocaine—second offense, and a 35-year-old Benton Harbor man detained on an outstanding failure-to-appear warrant.
Michigan State Police say the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are possible.
