An arrest has been made in connection to an arson fire that occurred last month on Beatrice Street in Osceola.
On March 16, St. Joseph County Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 10000 block of Beatrice Street.
Authorities spoke with Heather Burns, 33, and another individual involved in the incident. Burns initially left the property but later returned to retrieve personal items.
Just five minutes after her second departure, a witness reported seeing smoke and flames coming from the home.
The fire was determined to be intentionally set and was officially ruled an arson.
Further investigation revealed that Burns may have also stolen items from the home. She has since been arrested and charged with felony arson and theft.
