Man dead after being struck by train near Michigan, Bronson Streets in South Bend

A man was killed after being struck by a train in South Bend.

South Bend Police responded to the area of Michigan and Bronson Streets around 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 27, to find an adult male victim with severe injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s identity has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

The investigation has been turned over to Norfolk Southern Police and the St. Joseph County Coroner’s Office.
