The Potawatomi Zoo has officially broke ground on its newest project.

The project, Big Cat Tracks, is an Amur tiger and leopard habitat. Located in the southeast corner of the Zoo on two acres of land, it’s the Zoo’s first physical expansion in recent history.

The new habitats will include features designed specifically for each species’ needs.

The Amur tiger habitat will include a water feature, and the leopard habitat will include climbing structures. Additional Eurasian species will also be brought to the Zoo as part of the Big Cat Tracks.

The $5.5 million capital project is all made possible by private and public sources including individual donors, organizations and foundations. For more details, check out the Zoo’s website.
