Tri-Township Schools in Wanatah are giving eighth graders a head start on high school.
This academic year, students can begin earning credits in classes like Computer Foundations, Physical Education, and Health and Wellness.
According to High School Principal Brian McMahan, this initiative gives students more flexibility later on, allowing them to pursue internships and work-based learning in their senior year.
The new requirements call for students to earn at least 42 credits, including new requirements for computer science and personal finance.
