A Goshen man was arrested early following a reported domestic violence incident at a home on Bluegrass Court.

According to the Goshen Police Department, officers were called to the 500 block of Bluegrass Court around 4:50 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16, for a physical altercation.

After investigating, police arrested 28-year-old Marco Gomez, of 502 Bluegrass Court, on preliminary charges of domestic battery in the presence of a minor and strangulation.

Police said Gomez claimed he had also been battered, but he showed no visible injuries, only a complaint of pain. He was taken to the Elkhart County Jail.

The victim, a 27-year-old woman, had visible injuries to her neck and also complained of pain but declined medical treatment.

Police said additional charges are being forwarded to the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
