Third graders in South Bend are improving in reading thanks to a partnership with Tutor-ND, South Bend Schools, and We Make Indiana.
Pass rates on the spring reading test have risen 17% since 2021, with five schools ranking in the top 5% statewide for improvement.
Still, nearly 30% of students did not pass, showing the need for continued support and extended learning programs.
