A Mishawaka man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to auto theft.

The Goshen News says 67-year-old Paul Cady received a two-year sentence through a plea agreement for the Level 5 felony.

Police say officers were alerted to the stolen vehicle by a Flock camera system in December and later located it, conducting a traffic stop before taking Cady into custody.

According to court documents, Cady told officers he found the unlocked vehicle with keys inside and decided to take it, saying he was homeless and wanted a warm place to stay.
