Indiana’s housing market had its strongest April in four years, according to the Indiana Association of REALTORS®.
More than 7,100 homes sold statewide last month, up three percent from a year ago, while nearly 10,800 new listings hit the market.
Median home prices climbed to $274,000, up four percent year-over-year.
In northeast Indiana, the Fort Wayne metro posted the state’s biggest sales gain, with closings up 12 percent from last April. South Bend also saw strong growth in listings, up 20 percent.
Realtors say lower mortgage rates and growing inventory are giving buyers more options heading into the summer market.
