South Bend convicted felon sentenced for firearm possession

A South Bend man has been sentenced to six years in federal prison after pleading guilty to illegally possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

Thirty-seven-year-old Laquan Broussard received a 72-month sentence followed by one year of supervised release.

Authorities say Broussard, a convicted drug dealer with multiple felony convictions, was found carrying a loaded handgun during a traffic stop.
