LaPorte County residents are speaking out against a proposed countywide wheel tax. The plan would charge $25 a year for passenger vehicles and $15 for motorcycles.
People already paying a wheel tax in a city would be exempt.
County Council President Adam Koronka says the tax would give the county more money for road work and help bring in additional state funding.
Residents say they want the county to find another way to pay for road improvements without raising their costs.

Make the data centers pay for em. If you’re gonna allow them to come into town and cause issues, might as well make them pay to fix the roads.
