New details regarding accidental drowning at Lake Wawasee

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an accidental drowning on Lake Wawasee.

Authorities were called around 2 p.m. Friday after a man was reported missing near the sandbar. Multiple dive teams and emergency agencies joined the search.

Investigators say 55-year-old Brian Conwell entered the water to set mooring augers and began struggling. Emergency crews attempted lifesaving measures, but Conwell was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled.
