Niles city leaders are considering new restrictions on camping and sleeping in vehicles in public areas.
The discussion follows complaints about people staying for extended periods downtown and at Riverfront Park, sometimes leaving trash behind.
City officials say they’re looking for a solution that keeps public spaces clean and safe while also considering the needs of homeless individuals.
Possible changes include restrictions on camping, loitering and sleeping in cars.
The city’s Ordinance Committee discussed the issue Monday but took no formal action.
