MADISON, Ind. (AP) — A southern Indiana sheriff says a suspect has been arrested in connection with two devices that exploded outside a police department and a judge’s home.

Jefferson County Sheriff John Wallace says 37-year-old David A. Thiering Jr. of Madison was arrested Friday afternoon. He’s charged with two counts of possessing, placing and detonating a destructive device. He’s being held at the Jefferson County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.

Wallace says Thiering was arrested without incident.

One of the device was detonated March 7 at the entrance to the Madison City Hall’s parking lot. The second left black scorch marks in the driveway of Jefferson Superior Court Judge Michael Hensley’s home on March 16.

Madison Police Chief Dan Thurston said after the second incident he believed the explosions were connected.
