6-year-old North Manchester boy dies in north-central Indiana vehicle crash

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. (AP) — Authorities in north-central Indiana say a 6-year-old boy has died in a vehicle accident involving a truck pulling farm implements.

Police in Huntington County say the boy died Saturday afternoon when the minivan he was riding in crashed into the truck. Officials say the van crashed into the truck then left the road and went down an embankment.

The (Fort Wayne) Journal Gazette reports that 6-year-old Kayden Brubaker of North Manchester was found unresponsive inside the van and pronounced dead at the scene from blunt-force head trauma. Police say the boy was wearing a seat belt. Four passengers of the van were taken to a hospital with various injuries.

North Manchester is about 35 miles west of Fort Wayne.
