Deadly house fire under investigation in Osceola

A man in his 60s was found dead in the rear of a home after a fire in Osceola.

Crews were called to the 10000 block of Jefferson Road in St. Joseph County just after 12:15 a.m. Friday, May 8.

Two people were on the property, according to 95.3 MNC’s news partner ABC 57. The other person was not in the home and was not injured.

An autopsy is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, WSBT reported.

Crews from Penn Township and Clay Township fire departments were on scene for several hours Friday morning dousing hot spots.

St. Joseph County Metro Homicide is investigating the death.
