Two people in police custody, handgun found after large fight in Mishawaka

Two people were taken into police custody and a handgun was found after a large fight involving several people in Mishawaka on Thursday morning, June 4.

Police were called to the 800 block of North Division Street for the fight at about 8:53 a.m., according to Lt. Tim Williams with the Mishawaka Police Department.

Two male subjects ran from the scene of the fight followed by two pit bulls, Williams said. Police followed the subjects and took them into custody. The pit bulls were given to a family member.

A hand gun was found at the scene. “Several” people were taken to area hospitals, but nobody had life-threatening injuries, Williams said. Nobody has been arrested so far.
