About 3,600 people were without power in Michiana on Friday morning, Nov. 6.

  • UPDATE: Power was restored for most residents by noon Friday.

Here’s the full list from Indiana Michigan Power as of 7:40 a.m.:

  • St. Joseph County — 1,689
  • Elkhart County — 821
  • Grant County — 429
  • Madison County — 102
  • Berrien County, Mich. — 422
  • Cass County, Mich. — 152

Because of the power outages, some traffic lights may also be flashing red, including the intersection of Lincolnway and Beech road in Osceola. Drivers should treat those intersections as four-way stop.

Heavy rain and winds rolled through Michiana overnight, but it’s not clear exactly what caused the power outages. Estimated restoration times are not known.
