Sobriety checkpoint planned in St. Joseph County on Friday night

Police will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint in St. Joseph County this weekend art part of the statewide Operation Pull Over campaign.

The checkpoint will take place in the evening hours of Friday, Nov. 27, according to the Indiana State Police. A specific location was not announced.

Motorists who go through a checkpoint should have their license and vehicle registration ready to give to police.

Operation Pull Over is an annual campaign in which more police officers are on patrol on the lookout for intoxicated drivers and people not wearing seat belts during busy holiday travel dates. This year’s campaign began Nov. 13 and runs through Sunday, Dec. 6.
