Gravestones knocked over, house vandalized at Sturgis cemetery

STURGIS, Mich. (AP) — Police say a southern Michigan cemetery has been hit by vandalism.

Police in Sturgis say more than 30 headstones were destroyed at Oaklawn Cemetery sometime from Friday to Sunday and a small house on the property also was vandalized.

According to the city’s website, the cemetery was established in 1867. Tips are being sought from the public that could lead to any suspects in the case.
