Nobody was injured after police say a man shot several bullets into a Dowagiac, Mich., apartment that five adults and a child were in early Monday morning, April 11.

The shooting happened at about 12:35 a.m. in the 29000 block of Amerihost Drive at Eagles Wood and Trace Apartments, Director Steve Grinnewald with the Dowagiac Police Department said. Witnesses reported seeing two men drive away in a small dark colored SUV after the shooting.

Grinnewald said the shooting was likely connected to some sort of altercation that happened in the parking lot sometime Sunday night. They believe the apartment hit by gunfire wasn’t the intended target.

Officers are still looking for the suspects.

Anyone with information about the shooting or the altercation is asked to contact the Dowagiac Police Department at 269-782-9743 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-342-STOP.
