Police are searching for the suspects they say bound and assaulted three senior citizens in two separate robberies in Baugo Township.

The first incident happened around 12:30 a.m. on Monday, May 2, in the 56000 block of Fountain Row.

A 72-year-old man was tied up with an electrical cord and hit in his face and head, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspects took off with the victim’s wallet and other items.

The second incident happened just before 5 a.m. in the 57000 block of Hawthorne Street.

The suspects shoved a 75-year-old man and 69-year-old woman into a closet and stole several items from the home, the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department reported.

In both robberies, the suspects knocked on the victims’ doors, claiming to need help because their vehicle had broken down. When the victims opened the door, they forced their way inside, the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department reported.

The suspects are described as a man, and two women with blonde hair.

Anyone with information about either robbery is asked to contact the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department’s Detective Bureau at 574-891-2300 or submit an anonymous tip by clicking on the “Submit a Tip” button located at the top of the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department’s Facebook page.
