A 41-year-old woman was found dead in a dumpster in South Bend on Saturday morning.

The body of Sarah Regan Dill was found on a mattress inside a dumpster in the 1600 block of Miami Street at about 11 a.m., Sgt. Alex Arendt with St. Joseph County Metro Homicide said.

People who live in the area say they saw the woman climb into the dumpster early Saturday.

Police don’t believe the woman’s death is a homicide, but it is standard procedure for County Metro Homicide to investigate deaths. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday morning in Kalamazoo, Mich.
