UPDATE: Fatal shooting in the Near Northwest neighborhood of South Bend

St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit officers are investigating a fatal shooting late Monday night.

Just before midnight, shots were fired in the 1100 block of Blaine Ave., according to the South Bend Tribune.

When police arrived, they found a white man suffering from gunshot wounds in an alleyway between Blaine and Cleveland Avenues. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim, 24 year-old Arthur Wielosinski, was in his late 20s or early 30s. There are no suspects yet as the investigation continues. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday morning in Kalamazoo.
