Higher rates are coming to the Indiana Toll Road next month.
Drivers of two-axle vehicles who pay with transponders will discover a big jump in toll rates in June. It’s due to an expiring state subsidy program from the Indiana Finance Authority that’s kept rates down for more than ten years.
Class 2 vehicles will be charged the same as cash payers as of June 1. This means the full 157-mile trip will jump to $10.52. The trip from the Portage barrier to the Illinois state line will rise to $2.13, a significant increase from the current rate for EZpass users.
Further toll rate hikes are scheduled for July 1.
